About the IMJA

The International Messianic Jewish Alliance (lMJA) is the world wide fellowship of Jewish people who have accepted Yeshua (Jesus) as their Messiah. It carries out ministries through the work of its affiliated national alliances who unite their efforts to fulfill the aims of the international body. The International Messianic Jewish Alliance seeks to represent the common interests of Jewish believers throughout the world. The purpose of the International Alliance is to care for the spiritual and material welfare of all Jewish believers and to maintain within the Jewish people a witness to Yeshua the Messiah.

The beginnings of the IMJA date back to 1866 with the first Hebrew Christian Alliance and Prayer Union of Great Britain. By the turn of the century, similar alliances were established among Jewish believers in different parts of the world. Then in 1925, under the sponsorship of the British and American Alliances, all national alliances formed a partnership and the International Hebrew Christian Alliance was born.  This was the forerunner of what has now grown into the IMJA. Throughout the years and changing times, the IMJA (formerly the International Messianic Jewish-Hebrew Christian Alliance) has remained faithful to God's ministry to the Jewish People. Today this ministry is alive, relevant, growing, and expanding.  The IMJA membership encompasses both the Jewish believers in Yeshua that practice a traditional form of Jewish worship and those who maintain their Jewish identity as members of traditional evangelical churches. Membership in the IMJA is open to all Jewish believers in Yeshua who accept the Word of God as contained in the Old and New Covenants, and fellowship with other believers in a community of faith. Non-Jewish believers who identify with the ministry of the IMJA are associate members and play an important and vital role in God's work through this ministry.

Some of the World-Wide Ministries of the International Messianic Jewish Alliance include...

·  Bringing relief to any Jewish believer or group who has been ostracized because of his or her faith in Yeshua

·  Establishing alliances in every region of the world where there is a community of Jewish believers

·  Fostering the spiritual growth of every Jewish believer in such a way that they will live a life for the glory of God

·  Providing assistance to churches in restoring Jewishness of their faith and an understanding of  the Jewish people

The ministry of the IMJA has been closely linked with the Land of Israel since before the turn of the 20th century.  The primary objective has been to defend the rights of Jewish believers to live as other Jews in the land of Israel.

·  The Ebenezer Home for elderly Jewish believers near Haifa

·  Providing housing and educational grants for Russian immigrants

·  Helping Jewish believers from Ethiopia settle in the land

·  Providing biblical training for leaders of Messianic Jewish congregations and ministries

·  Defending the rights of Jewish believers when they are threatened or denied citizenship

A witness to Yeshua in the Land of Israel can best be accomplished through the work of local believers with the support of an International Alliance in its fellowship and spiritual life.  Another important role of the International Messianic Jewish Alliance is that it also acts as a unifying body for many outstanding organizations dedicated to sharing the Good News of the Messiah with the Jewish nation.
